November 18, 2015 USCPF’S 20TH ANNUAL GALA DINNER

The U.S.-China Policy Foundation celebrated our momentous 20th anniversary with a black-tie gala dinner on Wednesday, November 18 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC.

November 9, 2015 OBAMA’S CHALLEGE TO CHINA: THE PIVOT TO ASIA BOOK LAUNCH

On Monday, November 9th, the China Studies Department at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at John’s Hopkins hosted a launch for Dr. Chi Wang’s book “Obama’s Challenge to China: The Pivot to Asia.” Dr. David M. Lampton, Hyman Professor of SAIS-China and China Studies, moderated the event.

October 8, 2015 USCPF HOSTS PANEL DISCUSSION ON PRESIDENT XI JINPING RECENT VISIT TO THE U.S.

The USCPF recently hosted a panel discussion titled “President Xi in the U.S.: Takeaways from Xi Jinping’s Recent Visit.” Ambassador J. Stapleton Roy, former U.S. Ambassador to China, Singapore, and Indonesia, moderated the event. The panelists included five distinguished China experts: Mr. Douglass Paal, Vice President for Studies at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Dr. Robert Sutter, Professor of Practice of International Affairs at the Elliot School of International Affairs of George Washington University, Ambassador Richard Solomon, Senior Fellow at the RAND Corporation, Dr. Yukon Huang, Senior Associate at the Asia Program of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and Mr. Alan Romberg, Director of the East Asia Program at the Stimson Center.

September 22, 2015 USCPF HELPS WELCOME CHINESE PRESIDENT TO U.S.

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in the U.S. on September 22 and began his strip in Seattle, Washington. In Seattle, the U.S.-China Policy Foundation, in cooperation with event co-hosts the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, the U.S.-China Business Council, and the Washington State Welcoming Committee, welcomed the Chinese president to the U.S. with a banquet dinner and reception.

September 10 – October 23, 2015 AGELESS CHINESE ART EXHIBIT AND PANEL DISCUSSION

The USCPF recently hosted a panel discussion at the opening of the exhibit “Ageless Chinese Art: A Virginia Scholar’s Collection of Chinese Calligraphy and Paintings.” The exhibit, which is housed at the Fine Arts Gallery of the Art and Design Building of George Mason University, showcases many treasures from Dr. Chi Wang’s private collection of historical Chinese artworks and calligraphy.

August 8-18, 2015 AUGUST 2015 POLICYMAKERS TRIP TO CHINA

From August 8-18, the U.S.-China Policy Foundation (USCPF) led another successful Policymakers Trip to China. The August delegation traveled to Beijing, Shenyang, and Dalian. This year’s trip focused on commemorating the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII and included visits to several WWII related historical sites and museums.

June 8-12, 2015 WWII PHOTO EXHIBIT AND RECEPTION

The USCPF hosted a photo exhibit titled “The U.S.-China WWII Alliance,” which displayed photos that showcased the important relationship between the two countries during the Pacific War. The exhibit culminated in a reception where a few distinguished guests spoke on the role that remembering should play in the future U.S.-China great power relations.

March 28-April 7, 2015 SPRING 2015 POLICYMAKERS TRIP TO CHINA

The U.S.-China Policy Foundation (USCPF) led another successful Policymakers Trip to China from March 28-April 7. The spring delegation traveled to Beijing, Xi’an, and Shanghai. The trip highlighted China’s history, from ancient times through today, and had a special emphasis on commerce and development.

March 10, 2015 CHINA ANTI-CORRUPTION PANEL DISCUSSION

The USCPF hosted a panel of experts to discuss Chinese President Xi Jinping’s recent attempts to curb corruption in the government.
